Our programs

Four proposed areas of support and advocacy, with details pending organizational review.

Support begins with understanding people’s needs and choices. The areas below are draft descriptions of Shams’ work, rather than services available to book. See the contact page for availability enquiries, without sending sensitive personal details.

Psychosocial support

Draft for review

A proposed area for emotional support and social connection, shaped by participants’ needs.

The initial proposal includes individual or group sessions with specialists and spaces for connection without pressure to recount experiences. Referral arrangements and availability are not yet confirmed.

Participation and speaking about an experience should remain a personal choice. This page does not collect personal stories.

Health support

Draft for review

A proposal to help people access care and appropriate medical referrals.

This area could include understanding health needs and helping with referrals according to available resources. This draft does not confirm clinics or funding for treatment.

This page provides no diagnosis or medical consultation. Avoid sending medical records or document images through channels that have not been agreed upon.

Education and vocational training

Draft for review

Proposed opportunities to return to learning and build skills and independence.

The proposal focuses on returning to education and developing vocational skills in ways that fit participants’ choices and circumstances. Learning materials or courses could follow an assessment of needs and resources.

No course dates, grants or job openings have been announced. The site’s Bags of Hope campaign is an illustration, rather than a record of this program’s results.

Advocacy and transitional justice

Draft for review

Keeping the rights to truth, justice and reparations in public view.

This area concerns awareness of the rights of survivors and families of the missing, and their participation in setting advocacy priorities. The wording is proposed and needs organizational review.

This page is not a channel for testimony, evidence or legal advice requests. Do not send names or case files through the site.
